Program Objectives
• The most sustainable approach to community development is by teaching human service organisations within communities how to “fish” for resources and support for their development initiatives. The objective of the Training and Capacity Building Unit is to develop into a “Community College”. Drawing on the lessons of the past five years of our programmes it seeks to develop and teach capacity-building modules aimed at bringing about well led and administered non-profit community structures capable of attracting, deploying and accounting for resources.
• A component of the training will cover general organisational development principles. In addition organisations working in the different programme areas will receive programme specific training that is aimed at giving them an edge within their area of focus.
• The foundations plans to develop the modules in collaboration with individual and institutional partners.

Program Activities
The foundation is already providing training to organisations involved in the Social History and HIV/AIDS programmes. Plans are underway to develop a program with the Ron Brown Institute to develop an Entrepreneurship Training Module.
