New Centre to Tackle Key Bioethical Issues in South Africa: The Faculty of Health Sciences at Wits University has established the first fully-fledged Centre for Bioethics in the country. The Steve Biko Centre for Bioethics was launched officially on February 8 at the Women’s Prison Atrium, Constitution Hill.

The Lifetime Achiever Award is presented to an individual who has spent their lifetime making an exceptional contribution to the media industry in South Africa. Among the general criteria are that this person must be a well-respected leader, revered among peers - someone who has lived up to the principles that are fundamental to the sanctity of journalism.
