As a result of the Frank Talk initiative, the Steve Biko Foundation envisions a number of outcomes. Among them are:

Developing Custodians of Democracy

By consistently engaging Frank Talk participants in dialogue and debate, the foundation endeavors to inculcate a culture in which citizens critically examine contemporary trends and developments.  The hope is that participants will become active in local and national decision-making by positively and proactively engaging government structures.

Inculcating Civic Engagement

In addition to encouraging participants to be active custodians of democracy, the foundation will work to link participants with relevant institutions.  Through Frank Talk SBF aims to facilitate relationships between organizations in need of volunteers and particular types of expertise, and individuals who can contribute their time and talent.

Beyond witnessing these outcomes at the level of the individual, the Steve Biko Foundation believes it will also have the opportunity to influence the manner in which institutions operate by engaging stakeholders and challenging conventional thinking.
